The importance to each of the subject is the same but the approach differs.
8. If your approach to each of the subjects were different, how did you approach the preparation for
-
a. Language (Tamil) Paper
I like Tamil language. It is easy to learn this subject. Learn memory poems carefully. There are loads of one word answers in Tamil Paper I, so learn those things well. b. English Paper In this paper, you are free to show your originality. Do not memorise essays from guides. Write it on your own. Give quotations for essays. Learn grammar part well. Presentation is important here. Understand and analyse the poems, that will help you to do better in "Appreciation questions" section. c. Physics Paper In Physics, care should be taken while learning derivations. One should work out the derivations often to achieve perfection. Pay attention to bookback questions. Be thorough in the concepts. Practise some extra objectives. d. Chemistry Paper As everyone says equations are important in Chemistry. One should practise equations carefully. Another point in Chemistry exam is that time will be short for this subject. So speed up your writing. Even in public exam, I struggled to complete this paper. e. Mathematics Paper Mathematics is a tricky subject. Even if you are an expert in this subject, please do not miscalculate this subject. Practise the problems regularly. Do not skip the steps. Please avoid striking the sums in your answer sheets. Bookback objectives are very important. f. Biology Paper I am a Biology student. Biology is not difficult to learn. We should understand the content and then learn it. Diagrams should be clear and labelling must be perfect. Highlight the keywords. 9. How important are handwriting and learning to write speedily in the examinations? Is there
anything that a student can do to improve these two aspects?
Handwriting need not be attractive, but it must be legible. If your handwriting is obscure, it will irritate the
person who is correcting your paper. Learning to write speedily is very important. That will make you manage your
time.
10. Are there any strict Dos and Donts that you would recommend a student preparing for his or her twelfth standard examinations to adhere to?
1. Please understand the subject. Don't merely memorise it.
2. Clear your doubts immediately. 3. Do not compare your standard with your friends'. 4. Please answer the questions sectionwise. Don't change the order. 5. Presentation is very important for language papers. So take care of it. 6. Be confident. Be Calm. 7. Read the question paper carefully with utmost care. 8. Put the option numbers, question numbers correctly. 11. Did your school identify you as a prospective state rank holder early and give any special attention and coaching? How important is the choice of a school in achieving high marks in the examinations?
My school teachers treat each and every student with same care. No special cares were given for any particular
student. School's role is very important in achieving high marks. I am very glad that I chose SRV. My school and
my teachers are the best.
12. What was the role of your parents and family in your preparations for your public examinations?
My parents, relatives and friends were very supportive. They encouraged me a lot. My family members know the
value of education well. So, they advised me a lot. They helped me in my studies. My father wanted me as a
state rank holder. He often used to tell me this - that made me work towards it with confidence and sincerity.
My mother was with me always. My parents provided me with whatever things I needed. Thanks to them.
13. How did you learn about your achieving the state rank in the examinations? What was your reaction when you first heard it?
I learnt it from my school management. I felt really happy. I was on cloud nine. I felt damn so excited at that
moment.
14. Did you have any time to play any sport, pursue any hobby during your preparation for the public examination?
Yes I had time to relax. Actually relaxation is important for your development. I never compromise with my
relaxation. In my leisure time, I used to read books which is my favourite hobby.
15. Your life must have changed after achieving the state rank. You must be busy receiving lot of congratulatory messages, awards, recognitions etc. Could you tell your experience since the results were released?
Yes, it is true. I received many congratulatory messages and gifts. Even unknown persons congratulated me.
It was a happy feeling. I made my family members feel proud and happy. That was a very satisfactory element in
achieving this rank. I thank the "Almighty" for blessing me with this success.
16. Are there any special people you would like to thank for your achievement?
Yes, there are many people I would like to thank. My parents, teachers, school management, relatives and friends
who helped me a lot to achieve this rank. Their encouragement made me face the examination with confidence.
My teachers' support was immense. They were ready to clear my doubts and assist me whenever I approached them. I thank
all my teachers from the bottom of my heart. I thank the Almighty for providing me these wonderful people.
17. Tell us about your family.
My father is a civil engineer. He is working in Qatar. My mother is also a civil engineer. I have no brother or sister.
I am the only daughter.
18. What course have you chosen to pursue after your twelfth standard?
I wish to do Engineering, but my parents want me to do medicine. So, until now, I am in a double mind.
19. Finally, what is your advise to the students who would be taking their public examinations shortly?
Prepare for your exams right from the beginning. Do not postpone your studies. Face the exam with self-confidence.
Pray to God regularly. Hardwork never fails. Now work hard to lead a prosperous life. All the very best.
Self-confidence is the key to achieve success. Never lose it.
