obviously.

preparations.

work?
I would plan my work properly. I would allot 2 days per subject. This schedule will go on continuously.
6. How was your typical school holiday (weekend etc) like? How would you allot time for each of your
work?
I would divide the time equally between all subjects and plan my work in holidays.
7. Did you approach preparation for each of the subject (Language, English, Physics, Chemistry,
Maths, Biology/Computer Science) differently or was your approach the same to each of the subject?
My approach varied as per the difficulty level of the subject. I would take special care for those portions
where I felt difficult.
8. If your approach to each of the subjects were different, how did you approach the preparation for
-
a. Language (Tamil) Paper
I would take extra care for Tamil II paper. I would practise the essays in it so that it would help me finishing the paper in time. It also helped me in improving my handwriting. b. English Paper I would take much care for essays in II paper. I had the habit of reading newspapers and magazines. So, it helped me to improve my vocabulary. Moreover, it helped me in facing the General essays too. I practised many exercises and question papers. So I was able to score state first mark in English. c. Physics Paper I would practise the derivations in Physics so as to make it easier for me to derive them in exams. Moreover, I would give more attention to problems in Physics. d. Chemistry Paper Understanding basic concepts in Organic lessons made Chemistry even more easier for me. I took a lot of practice questions when it came to compulsory problems. I gave more attention to one mark questions from Organic and Physical Chemistry. e. Mathematics Paper When it comes to Mathematics, nothing makes it more easier than working out all models of questions. I had taken up lots of question papers and got it corrected from my teachers. It helped me minimise even minute errors in Mathematics. f. Biology I consider Biology a lively subject. Taking hints, key points and highlighting them made Biology very interesting. Whenever I study Biology, I bring out the picturisation of the concept to my mind. So it helped me remember the points very easily. 9. How important are handwriting and learning to write speedily in the examinations? Is there
anything that a student can do to improve these two aspects?
Handwriting and speed writing are indispensable for those who aspire for good marks. It fetches them good marks.
Carrying out writing practise in all subjects can improve handwriting and speed writing.
10. Are there any strict Dos and Donts that you would recommend a student preparing for his or her twelfth standard examinations to adhere to?
Do's:
* Be confident of your potential * Understand the basic concept and then go for learning the subject * Take key points and hints of the portions you study. It helps to glance over it again when you study Don'ts: * Do not mug up any concept without understanding it * Never feel inferior about your capability * Dont have the thought of difficulty before you go for study 11. Did your school identify you as a prospective state rank holder early and give any special attention and coaching? How important is the choice of a school in achieving high marks in the examinations?
The role of a school in bringing up the talent of a student cannot be denied. I was very fortunate that my school
identified the best in me and nurtured my talent to gift me a state rank.
12. What was the role of your parents and family in your preparations for your public examinations?
My parents geared me up whenever I went down the ladder and when I felt that I need some encouragement and motivation,
they were always there for me.
13. How did you learn about your achieving the state rank in the examinations? What was your reaction when you first heard it?
I was glad when I heard that I got a state rank. My dream has come true. But I am not carried away with what I got.
There is still a long way ahead.
14. Did you have any time to play any sport, pursue any hobby during your preparation for the public examination?
I did divide some time for hobbies. I did not want to compromise with any of my regular hobbies for the sake of
my preparation for exams. In fact, I would watch sports, news channels and read magazines regularly. Keeping
track with the events happening around the world is as important as the exams. Being a book worm is a mere waste
according to me.
15. Your life must have changed after achieving the state rank. You must be busy receiving lot of congratulatory messages, awards, recognitions etc. Could you tell your experience since the results were released?
Of course, I was greeted with many messages and was honoured with awards. I feel proud of my achievements. But this
is just a small milestone. The best is yet to come.
16. Are there any special people you would like to thank for your achievement?
Yes, I would like to thank my school management, correspondents, Principal, my teachers and my parents who stood
