1. Congratulations on getting the state rank in the HSC examinations. Was it a surprise when it came
or were you expecting it any way?
It was not a surprise. It was an expected one. I wrote my exams very well and I was sure that I would get a place
in the top three ranks.
2. Many schools and students start their preparation for the twelfth standard examinations while in
the 11th standard itself. When did you start your preparations for the 12th standard public examinations?
I started my preparations after the 11th standard half yearly exam.
3. Was the teaching and materials provided by the school sufficient for your preparations or did you
take any special coaching for any of the subjects?
I did not take any special coaching. Teaching and materials provided by the school were sufficient for me to
score marks.
4. For how many hours per day did you study?
5 to 6 hours.
5. How was your typical school working day like? How would you allot time for each of your
work?
It was running very fast. My typical school working day included morning and evening study sessions.
6. How was your typical school holiday (weekend etc) like? How would you allot time for each of your
work?
Every Sunday we played Cricket. I played in the morning and afternoon sessions. From the evening, I continued my
routine works.
7. Did you approach preparation for each of the subject (Language, English, Physics, Chemistry,
Maths, Biology/Computer Science) differently or was your approach the same to each of the subject?
I approached all the subjects in the same way and I gave equal importance to all the subjects whether it was language
or subject.
8. If your approach to each of the subjects were different, how did you approach the preparation for

anything that a student can do to improve these two aspects?
Handwriting plays an important role in the language papers. Students need not worry about slow handwriting in the
early stages. It can be improved by writing more exams.
10. Are there any strict Dos and Donts that you would recommend a student preparing for his or her twelfth standard examinations to adhere to?
Try to understand the concept better and keep in mind by using good techniques. Clear your doubts then and
there. Don't study even a single line blindly. Don't worry about anything. Be cool and approach your goals.
Don't lose your hopes at any times.
11. Did your school identify you as a prospective state rank holder early and give any special attention and coaching? How important is the choice of a school in achieving high marks in the examinations?
Yes, my school identified me as a prospective state rank holder early and gave me special attention. Other than
student's hardwork, schools play an important role.
12. What was the role of your parents and family in your preparations for your public examinations?
My parents and family played an important role. I was staying in the hostel. My parents gave the inspiration and
encouragement.
13. How did you learn about your achieving the state rank in the examinations? What was your reaction when you first heard it?
My school informed me about my achievement. I was very very happy when I first heard it.
14. Did you have any time to play any sport, pursue any hobby during your preparation for the public examination?
No, I didn't have anytime to play any sport.
15. Your life must have changed after achieving the state rank. You must be busy receiving lot of congratulatory messages, awards, recognitions etc. Could you tell your experience since the results were released?
It was a strange feeling. I never experienced those feelings before. I talked in front of my school students
for the first time. It gave me lot of confidence. I participated in a live program. It changed my approach.
16. Are there any special people you would like to thank for your achievement?
Yes, my school teachers and directors especially Mr.K.Thangavel for his great support and encouragement.
17. Tell us about your family.
My father is working as Junior Assistant in Collector's camp office, Dharmapuri.
My mother is working as BRT in Mohanur. My brother is studying in 9th standard. 18. What course have you chosen to pursue after your twelfth standard?
MBBS
19. Finally, what is your advise to the students who would be taking their public examinations shortly?
