The Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) is a National Program of Fellowship which is organized by IISc Bangalore. 

The main purpose of this exam is to identify students with talent and aptitude for research who can help to develop a country with his/her scientific mindset.

KVPY exam mostly conducted in the first week of November. Registration starts from the month of July to the first week. Here I am sharing with you some important dates related to the KVYP examination.

Here some criteria for the Fellowship, It will be based on their performance in the Aptitude test and their Interview.

SELECTION PROCEDURE

The KVPY authorities will award the fellowship to the selected students as per the selection criteria. (Selection procedure as per the Aptitude test and after there, they will call selected candidates for Interview which is the final stage for the selection procedure.

ELIGIBILITY - 2020

Stream SA: The students enrolled in class 11th with the science subject during the academic year 2020-2021 and have secured minimum marks of 75% Gen. and 65% for SC/ST/PWD in aggregate in Maths and Science subjects.

The students finally got the rewarded the scholarship If they join a UG course in Basic Science B. Sc. / B.S. / B. Stat. / B. Math. / Integrated M. Sc. / Integrated M. S.) in the academic year 2022-2023 along with the secured minimum marks of 60% Gen. 50% for SC/ST/PWD category in aggregate in Science subject in class 12th standard.

Stream SX:  This is for those students who are enrolled in 12th Standard/ (+2) with Science subjects during the academic year 2020–21 and aspiring to join the undergraduate program in Basic Sciences namely Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics & Biology leading to  B.Sc. / B.S. / B.Stat. / B.Math. / Integrated M.Sc. / Integrated M.S. for the session 2021–22 provided they have secured a minimum of 75% (65% for SC/ST/PWD) marks in aggregate in Mathematics and Science subjects (Physics/Chemistry/ Biology) in the X Standard Board Examination during the academic year, 2018-19 are eligible to appear for the Aptitude test.

Stream SB The students enrolled in the first year of UG program in Basic Science (PCM) and Biology leading to B. Sc. / B.S. / B. Stat. / B. Math./ Integrated M. Sc. / Integrated M. S. during the academic year 2020-2021.

The students must have secured a minimum of 60% Gen. and 50% for SC/ST/PWD category marks in Maths and Science subjects (P/C/M/B) in 12th board examination.

The students of 1st-year final examination of B. Sc. / B.S. / B.Math. / B.Stat. / Integrated M.Sc./ Integrated M.S. they must have to secure 60% gen. 50% for SC/ST/PWD category marks to eligible for the fellowship.

Additional Empowerment initiative in the KVPY Fellowship Program:

  1. A certain number of additional fellowships exclusively for the students belonging to SC/ST community under the various streams as stated above will be operated.
  2. A certain number of fellowships under various streams, as stated above will be operated exclusively for students under the category of Persons With Disability (Physically and Visually Challenged).
Students enrolled in an undergraduate course in Basic Sciences, that is, B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./Int. M.S. in Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Cell Biology, Ecology, Molecular Biology, Botany, Zoology, Physiology, Biotechnology, Neurosciences, Bioinformatics, Marine Biology, Geology, Human Biology, Genetics, Biomedical Sciences, Applied Physics, Geophysics, Materials Science or Environmental Science are eligible for KVPY fellowship.
