ABOUT INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY

The first Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) was functioning in Kharagpur. We all know generally IIT Kharagpur. Right now a total of 23 IITs established in India. The Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) are autonomous public technical and research universities located across India. They are governed by the Indian Institute of Technology Act, 1961, which has declared them as Institutions of National Importance.

The Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) offered a course for undergraduate and postgraduate programs. For the undergraduate program in IIT, there will be a process to take admission via the Joint Entrance examination (JEE).

There are two entrance exams along with the seat allocation process (JoSSA) to reach eligibility criteria for IITs. (1) JEE MAIN & (2) JEE ADVANCED. All the IITs aspirant students must have to full fill the required criteria to take admission for undergraduate program in the Indian Institutes of Technology.

Around 18 lakhs students participated in JEE Main examination in 2020 to take admission into the undergraduate program. IIT aspirant students must have to qualify JEE MAIN and then JEE ADVANCED exam. Through Joint Seat Allocation Process (JoSSA) process seats will be allocated to the eligible students to any one of 23 IITs, NITs, IIITs, or other reputed colleges that are connected with this examination.
